Renewed interest in Pompey sale

Portsmouth have had further interest from parties looking to take over the club, reports BBC Radio Solent.

Pompey owner Sacha Gaydamak put the club up for sale in December, citing increased business commitments.

Executive chairman Peter Storrie said: "There have been one or two interested parties but there is a process they need to go through."

Pompey previously denied rumours linking a South African consortium with a buy-out.
"I'm always hopeful but I can't say any more at the moment," added Storrie.
Franco-Russian businessman Gaydamak became co-owner of Portsmouth, alongside then chairman Milan Mandaric, in January 2006.

He immediately pumped about £20m into the club, which enabled then manager Harry Redknapp to make a host of signings to help save the club from relegation.

In July of that year, Gaydamak bought out Mandaric at a cost of about £32m to take on sole ownership at Fratton Park and then set out his strategy to find a new stadium and training facilities for the club.
